Northrop gets U.K. air force job
	The United Kingdom named Northrop Grumman Corp. as the preferred bidder to provide aircraft maintenance and design engineering support to the Royal Air Force.

The Los Angeles company and the U.K. Ministry of Defence will negotiate terms and conditions of the Sentry Whole Life Support Programme contract, which is worth $1.19 billion over 21 years.
Northrop Grumman officials said they expect a contract award in January 2005.
The company's IT sector in Herndon, Va., will support the maintenance schedule for the Royal Air Force fleet of E-3D Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft.
