McAfee to buy Foundstone

McAfee Inc.'s agreement to buy Foundstone Inc. for $86 million in cash will give the Santa Clara, Calif., security firm a toehold in the growing vulnerability management market.

Foundstone of Mission Viejo, Calif., this month announced that the Justice Department will use its tools to reduce computer vulnerabilities and comply with the Federal Information Security Management Act. The software helps inventory IT assets, identify vulnerabilities and plug the holes where worms and other malicious code can enter a network. *
