Saudis tap TAMSCO for Air Force work

Technical and Management Services Corp. won a six-month, $11.2 million contract extension from the Air Force to provide logistical services and support for the Royal Saudi Air Force.

Under the extension, the company will continue to provide integrated logistical services for aircraft parts, personnel, procurement, maintenance, documentation and specialized management services to the Air Force and to the Royal Saudi Air Force throughout Saudi Arabia. Technical and Management Services has provided these services under an existing contract for the last six years.

Other services the company will provide include supporting a print plant operation in Riyadh, operating a forward supply/repair and return point in Dhahran for the Saudi Air Force's foreign military sales weapons systems, and supplying program support personnel. Technical and Management Services also supplies hardware and software enhancements for a print-on-demand system.

Based in Calverton, Md., Technical and Management Services provides telecommunication and IT services, integrated logistics support, systems integration and electronic manufacturing for the U.S. military and prime defense contractors. It employs 700 people and had 2003 revenue of $573 million.

The company is a subsidiary of Engineered Support Systems Inc. of St. Louis, which supplies integrated military electronics, support equipment and logistics services to U.S. and foreign militaries. It acquired Technical and Management Services in May 2003. ESSI was ranked No. 60 on the Washington Technology Top 100.
