Regan steps down as Conn. CIO

Rock Regan, chief information officer for Connecticut, is leaving the post Aug. 1, after seven years on the job. As CIO, Regan oversaw the Year 2000 rollover, rescue of the state's computer operations from a damaging flood and a decision in 1999 to torpedo a contract with EDS Corp. to outsource IT operations. In an e-mail to the National Association of State CIOs, Regan said the resignation was due to the "change of administration." Regan had been appointed CIO by former Gov. John Rowland, who resigned last month amid a federal corruption investigation.
