E-gov: Three agencies go green

Find opportunities — and win them.

Only three agencies showed enough improvement in their e-gov initiatives to move up to the top ranking in the midyear report card released last week by the Office of Management and Budget.

The progress bumped the status of e-gov projects at the Environmental Protection Agency, Small Business Administration and Transportation Department from yellow to green.

The three join the National Science Foundation and the Office of Personnel Management as the only five agencies to achieve e-government success.

The scorecard also measures agencies' progress toward reaching their e-gov goals. Only the Homeland Security Department received a red score for its lack of e-gov progress; five agencies received yellow; and 20 received green scores.

OMB's quarterly scorecard measures the status and progress of 26 departments and agencies in achieving the goals of the President's Management Agenda.
