Larry Lanzillotta, who became acting defense comptroller when Dov Zakheim retired in April, left the Defense Department last week to work for Northrop Grumman Corp. The Senate has not yet approved FBI Chief Financial Officer Tina Jonas, nominated by President Bush in March to replace Zakheim as undersecretary of defense for finance and comptroller. "Pending Senate confirmation, we anticipate that she will be able to assume the duties of under secretary immediately. In the absence of confirmation, the department has developed contingency plans," a Pentagon spokesperson said.
