AccuPoll elects to buy NTS

AccuPoll Inc. will acquire NTS Data Services Corp., a provider of voter registration applications and election support services, in a cash and stock deal, the company announced today.

The value of the acquisition, which is scheduled to close by Aug. 30, was not disclosed.

The purchase of NTS Data Services Corp. of Niagara Falls, N.Y., brings to AccuPoll of Tustin, Calif., voter registration and election services as well as various supplemental services, such as image conversion and election night reporting.

With the acquisition, AccuPoll will now offer voter registration and election support services to more than 60 counties in six states, representing more than 7 million registered voters.

The acquisition expands AccuPoll's client base in the Northeast by adding contracts in New York and Pennsylvania, according to the company.

AccuPoll provides federally qualified, electronic voting systems equipped with touch screens and a paper audit trail that can be confirmed by the voter at the time the ballot is cast.
