SRA to help military families move
SRA International Inc. won a contract from the Defense Department's Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command.
SRA International Inc. won a contract from the Defense Department's Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command to develop a Web-based personal property system to help manage the moving of military families around the world.
The contract has a potential worth of $54.6 million for 10 years if all options are exercised, the company said.
The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command manages the Defense Department's $1.8 billion personal property program and is responsible for moving more than 500,000 shipments annually. As part of the "Families First" initiative, the new system will streamline the process of moving personal property and be aligned with transportation improvement plans throughout the Defense Department.
SRA's services will include project management, requirements analysis, systems integration, information assurance, database development and the integration of commercial, off-the-shelf customer relationship management and supply chain management technologies. SRA's team includes Siebel Systems Inc., Manugistics Group Inc., SQL Corp., Complete Professional Services Inc., XIO Strategies Inc., Oak Grove Software, Customer Value Partners Corp. and Trusted Solutions Group Inc.
Fairfax, Va.-based SRA provides IT services and solutions to federal government agencies. The company is No. 31 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list of prime federal contractors.
