L-3 wins multibillion dollar Naval Sea Systems deal
L-3 Communications Corp. has won a 15-year contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide a wide array of support services.
L-3 Communications Corp. has won a 15-year contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide a wide array of support services, the company announced this week. The indefinite-delivery, indefinite quantity contract could be worth several billion dollars, the company said.
L-3 Government Services Inc. of Chantilly, Va., will provide engineering, technical and program support for the Naval Sea System Command's field activities.
The contract, known as Seaport Enhanced, is a companion piece to the Seaport contract that supports the Naval Sea Systems Command's headquarters. The contract will combine the strengths of several L-3 divisions under a single team led by L-3 Government Services Inc.
Seaport and Seaport Enhanced are the primary contract vehicles the Naval Sea Systems Command to shift and consolidate work from various governmentwide acquisition deals and other standalone contracts to mega-contract vehicles, the company said.
Major requirements include program management, in-service engineering, research and development, models and simulation, prototyping, system design and documentation, and test and evaluation.
L-3 Communications Government Services Inc. is a unit of L-3 Communications of New York. The company has about 38,000 employees and annual sales of $5.1 billion. L-3 ranked No. 14 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
