TSA's Schambach joins PEC Solutions

Patrick Schambach, a federal Transportation Security Administration official, was hired as general manager of PEC Solutions Inc., the company said today.

Schambach, who held various executive and management IT positions during his 32-year federal government career, will lead the Fairfax, Va., professional IT services company's civilian e-government and infrastructure implementation practice. He starts June 1.

Schambach was chief information officer of TSA, a homeland security agency formed after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. There, he oversaw efforts to create the agency's IT infrastructure and operations and to tighten security at 429 commercial airports by implementing new passenger and luggage screening guidelines.

Before working for TSA, Schambach was CIO of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, where he helped develop the managed support services model. Before that, he spent more than 24 years at the Secret Service, where he was chief of the information resources management division.
