GTSI president leaves company

John Spotila, president and chief operating officer of GTSI Corp., will leave the IT reseller on May 25, company officials announced today.

Spotila has had responsibility for daily operations of the Chantilly, Va., company, which had $954.1 million in revenue in 2003 and employs 685 people.

Before joining GTSI in December 2000, Spotila served as administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the federal government's Office of Management and Budget. Previously, he was general counsel at the Small Business Administration.

"We've chosen to go separate ways," said Dendy Young, chairman and chief executive officer of GTSI. "John has worked closely with me to build a first-class management team and we plan to go forward. He has chosen to pursue some other objectives."

Young said he will take back the title of president and the GTSI management team would assume Spotila's other duties.

With prime information technology contracting revenue of $530.7 million in 2003, GTSI ranked No. 15 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list of federal prime IT contractors.
