Computer Sciences Corp. has won a $74 million contract from the Maryland Department of Transportation to provide network management services, the company announced today.

CSC of El Segundo, Calif., will provide the department with network management, operations and maintenance support. The company will perform specific tasks such as network planning and engineering and implementing an asset management system.

The company also will support the state's intelligent transportation system and train department personnel.

The win follows a previous five-year contract, worth $75 million, awarded to CSC in 1997 for network and information technology support. CSC's performance on that contract was instrumental in its being selected for the new contract, the company said.

CSC has about 90,000 employees and annual sales of $14.8 billion. The company was ranked No. 3 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
