Anteon wins ship survivability work

Anteon International Corp. won a five-year contract worth a $15.5 million from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, to provide engineering and technical services for evaluating ship survivability, the company said yesterday.

Under the contract, the Fairfax, Va., information technology and systems engineering and integration company will provide an array of services for enhanced survivability support to surface ship and submarine acquisition, construction, and research and development programs, the company said.

These services will include developing and applying underwater explosion shock analyses of naval vessels and their design components, and evaluating the structural integrity of conventional and composite materials.

Anteon employs about 7,900 workers in more than 100 offices worldwide and had 2003 revenue of more than $1 billion. The company is No. 19 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of government contractors, which ranks companies according to their prime IT contracting revenue.
