Military taps Monolithics for microwave technology

US Monolithics LLC received a $2.7 million contract to develop custom microwave integrated circuits and related packaging for a U.S. military program, the company said Tuesday.
US Monolithics said it could not disclose the name of the military program or client.
The contract includes two options that could boost the total price tag to $7 million.
Based in Chandler, Ariz., US Monolithics provides microwave integrated circuits and packaged components to both government and commercial clients. It is a subsidiary of ViaSat Inc. of Carlsbad, Calif., a producer of digital satellite telecommunications and wireless signal processing systems for federal and commercial markets.
US Monolithics accounted for less than 5 percent of ViaSat's revenue in the year ended March 31, 2003, according to ViaSat's latest annual report.
