ManTech sails into Navy radar systems deal

ManTech International Corp. has won a five-year, $12.5 million contract from the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division to provide engineering and technical services for shipboard advanced target identification systems, the company announced today.

The services support non-cooperative target recognition and identification, as well as other combat identification and air traffic control systems.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division is part of the Naval Air Systems Command. It supports the design, development, integration, testing and evaluation, installation, fielding, certification, maintenance and logistics for Navy electronic combat identification systems and subsystems.

This contract provides engineering and technical services to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division's Identification Systems Division, which supports combat identification and air traffic control systems.

The systems include the AN/UPX-34A(V), central identification friend or foe, automatic identification and control approach radar systems.

Fairfax, Va.-based ManTech offers information technology services and solutions to the federal government. It has more than 5,500 employees and annual sales of $701.6 million. The company ranked No. 36 on Washington Technology's 2003 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue. The 2004 list is due out in May.
