L-3 gets Navy depot contract
L-3 Communications Corp. has won a four-year, $63.6 million contract to provide depot-level maintenance services to select Navy and Marine Corps installations.
L-3 Communications Corp. has won a four-year, $63.6 million contract to provide depot-level maintenance services to select Navy and Marine Corps installations, the company announced today.
L-3 Vertex Aerospace will perform the services to the Naval Air Systems Command Depot in Jacksonville, Fla., detachments of the Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia and the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, S.C.
The services include modernization, conversion, in-service repair, disassembly and other categories of heavy and structural depot-level maintenance for a variety of aircraft, including the EA-6B, F-14, F-18, H-60 and P-3, as well as engine overhaul services.
The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity task order contract was awarded by the Naval Supply Systems Command in Philadelphia.
L-3 Vertex, a provider of aviation and aerospace technical services, is a subsidiary of L-3 Communications' Integrated Systems division in Greenville, S.C., which is a unit of New York-based L-3 Communications.
L-3 Communications offers intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems and products, secure communications systems, avionics and ocean products, training products, microwave components and telemetry, instrumentation and space and wireless products to the government and commercial sectors.
The company has more than 25,000 employees and annual sales of $4 billion. The company ranked No. 12 on Washington Technology's 2003 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
