DOD taps Dynamics Research for training support

Dynamics Research Corp. has won a five-year, $5 million contract from the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense to provide training system support services, the company announced today.

Under the contract, DRC of Andover, Mass., will update training system acquisition specifications and guidance to reflect emerging Defense Department system acquisition and training transformation initiatives.

Specifically, DRC will modify the acquisition processes to include training and employee-oriented requirements as a key performance factor. The company also will develop and update training specification documents to reflect best business practices, new technology and standard industry terminology related to fielding effective employee performance-oriented training.

Current DOD training specification documents and guidance neither address the integration of training across training systems nor the integration of human performance requirements into the system acquisition process, the company said.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract was awarded by the Naval Air Systems Command Orlando Training Systems Division. The company will perform the work in Andover, Mass.; Orlando, Fla.; and Waxahachie, Texas.

DRC is a provider of engineering, logistics, training, simulation and modeling, and information technology services. The company has about 1,850 employees and annual sales of $244.8 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
