SiteScape Inc., Maynard, Mass., has named Brian Hays its new chief executive officer and chairman of the board.

Hays joined SiteScape from Science Applications International Corp., where he was a senior vice president for business development in the government market.

SiteScape sells Web-based collaboration and knowledge management software to commercial and government organizations. The company's Enterprise Forum 7.0 product is a customizable environment where workers can share documents, manage projects, schedule meetings and more.

SiteScape's customers include the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, NASA Glenn Research Center and the Navy Tactical Information Technology Integration Program Office.

SAIC of San Diego is one of SiteScape's key partners, functioning as a reseller, application service provider, end user and investor.

"In 2003, it became clear that the government sector is one in which robust, best-of-breed collaborative applications are taking hold," Hays said. "SiteScape already has tremendous traction in the government sector and Enterprise Forum has been [praised] for its combination of functionality, security and scalability."

SiteScape's annual sales grew by more than 65 percent in 2003, the company said. Sales in the government sector drove the increase.
