SI International lands Air Force Space Command deal

SI International Inc. has won a $6 million contract from the Air Force Space Command for engineering technical services to support the command's ballistic missile defense program, the company announced today.

SI International of Reston, Va., will provide services for defining, developing, fielding, testing and sustaining the missile system. The 11-month task order has a one-year option.

With ballistic missile defense as a key area of focus, SI International has supported Air Force Space Command, as well as the U.S. Strategic Command, for more than seven years.

SI International also has supported the space command's space-based sensors system, spacelift range systems, range standardization and automation, military satellite communication systems, the Air Force satellite control network and other programs since 1996.

SI International, a provider of information technology and network solutions to the federal government, has about 1,200 employees and annual sales of $149.4 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas. The company ranked No. 83 on Washington Technology's 2003 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
