Northrop Grumman lands Army support work

Northrop Grumman Corp. has won a $10 million task order to support to the Army's Research, Development and Engineering Command. The task order is valued over three years.

The work, to be carried out by Northrop Grumman's IT sector, includes support services to the newly formed RDECOM, such as studies and analyses, planning, organizational support, reporting, training requirements, war game and battlefield scenario simulations, and database development and support.

The command is responsible for almost all Army research, development and engineering, according to William Lese, vice president of simulation, analysis and training.

The company estimates the contract will bring about 10 new jobs to Northrop Grumman IT. Work will be carried out at the NGIT site in Aberdeen, Md.

Northrop Grumman's team members on the contract include the Tauri Group, Alexandria, Va.; Quicksilver Analytics Inc., Abingdon, Md.; Camber Corp., Huntsville, Ala.; HGS Engineering Inc., Anniston, Ala.; SciTech Services Inc., Edgewood, Md.; and URS Corp., San Francisco.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, Northrop Grumman reported 2002 revenue of more than $17 billion, and employed 117,300 people. The company was ranked No. 2 on the Washington Technology 2003 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
