ManTech to acquire ACS' Air Force work

ManTech International Corp. will acquire contracts from Affiliated Computer Services Inc. that support the Air Force Electronic Systems Center's Information Technology Services program, ManTech announced Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The ITSP contracts produced about $25 million in revenue for Dallas-based ACS in fiscal 2003, ACS said in a separate announcement. It kept the contracts after divestiture of a large portion of the company's federal business to Bethesda, Md.-based Lockheed Martin Corp. in November.

Under the contracts, ManTech of Fairfax, Va., will deliver information technology services, including program management, systems engineering, network engineering and administration, test and evaluation and data management to various program management offices.

The contracts will enable ManTech to broaden its support of the Air Force and gain access to markets where it can strengthen its position in national security business, said George Pedersen, ManTech's chairman of the board, chief executive officer and president.

After the transaction closes, the operations will be integrated into ManTech's National Security Solutions Group's Space Systems Division.

ManTech, a provider of technologies and solutions for mission-critical national security programs for the intelligence community, the Department of Defense and other federal government customers, has about 5,000 employees and annual sales of $500 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
