Homeland Security gets help with HR plan

Orizon Inc. has won a $1.2 million contract from the Homeland Security Department to help develop the department's human capital strategic plan, the company said today.

Under the one-year deal, Rockville, Md.-based Orizon will help DHS align its human capital requirements with mission needs, company spokesman Michael McLean said. The company will also assess the impact of the plan on employees, managers and HR professionals.

Founded in 1998, Orizon is an 8(a) small business that provides technology consulting, infrastructure design and solution development. The company also specializes in organizational development, change management, enterprise resource planning and program management support.

With more than 100 employees, Orizon had sales of $16 million in 2003. Its other government customers include the Defense, State, Treasury, and Housing and Urban Development departments.
