Anteon brings in $50 million Navy deal

Anteon International Corp. won a $49.6 million contract to modernize and repair about 10 of the Navy's mine countermeasure and hunter class ships in Ingleside, Texas. The five-year deal is an award from the Naval Sea Systems Command

S. Daniel Johnson, Anteon's executive vice president and chief operating officer, called the contract "another key milestone" for Anteon as it grows its capability in Navy ship repair and modernization.

Headquartered in Fairfax, Va., Anteon reported 2002 revenue of $826 million, and has projected breaking the $1 billion mark for 2003. The company has approximately 7,600 employees in more than 100 offices worldwide. Anteon was no. 14 on the Washington Technology 2003 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
