SAIC lands $832 million NASA contract

Science Applications International Corp. has won a five-year, $823.6 million contract from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's George C. Marshall Space Flight Center to provide information technology management support services, the company announced today.

The cost-plus-award-fee contract is a follow on to the Unified NASA Information Technology Services contract.

Under the contract, SAIC of San Diego will perform both agencywide IT management services as well as services specifically for Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., the company said. The agencywide services will be performed primarily at Marshall Space Flight Center.

The agencywide services include support for the integrated financial management program, wide area network, IT security and NASA's digital television, while the Marshall Space Flight Center services include IT systems and support for programs and projects for which MSFC is responsible.

SAIC's team includes IBM Corp., Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc., Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., Metters Industries Inc, Alabama State University, General Dynamics Corp., and several local companies.

SAIC, a provider of IT, systems integrations and electronic solutions to commercial and government clients, has more than 42,000 employees and annual sales of $5.9 billion.
