Anteon wins contract to support U.S. intelligence

Anteon International Corp. won a six-year contract to provide systems engineering and professional services to the U.S. intelligence community on behalf of the Office of the Secretary of Defense, officials of the Fairfax, Va., the company announced today.

The contract is worth about $105 million if all options are exercised, according to the company.

Anteon will provide support services in the areas of mission rehearsal, homeland security and command, control, communications, computers, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR). Anteon will work on the interoperability of C4ISR infrastructures and homeland security systems within the United States and between the United States and its coalition partners, company officials said.

Anteon has developed secure, real-time information exchange systems to support NATO, Unified Commands and coalition forces engaged in combat operations and the global war on terrorism, said Joseph Kampf, Anteon's president and chief executive officer.

Anteon had revenue of $826 million in 2002, and employs about 7,600 people in more than 100 offices worldwide. The company was ranked No. 14 in the Washington Technology Top 100.
