Arinc Inc. will provide avionics systems development, engineering and integration work to Lockheed Martin Corp. under a $70 million contract, part of Lockheed Martin's Deepwater project for the Coast Guard.
Arinc will be involved in the performance modeling for new Coast Guard radar systems and in the development of electronics suites for new fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft. The company has also contracted to perform technical refreshment functions for the life of Deepwater.
Deepwater is a multiyear program to modernize and replace aging ships and aircraft, and improve command and control and logistics systems. It is the largest acquisition program in the history of the Coast Guard, according to Arinc.
In June 2002, the Coast Guard awarded the Deepwater contract to Integrated Coast Guard Systems, a joint venture of Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman Corp.
