Wireless integrated network

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has a requirement for a satellite communications system and related support services. The system will support the patrol and the departments of transportation, corrections and conservation and water patrol. An RFP is expected in the third quarter. The project value has not been determined.

The solution should allow for the inquiry data packets leaving the mobile units to be carried via satellite to the telecom provider's central office and forwarded to the patrol's gateway. The system also should provide interagency and interoperable mobile data communications across jurisdictional boundaries; solve interoperability issues among state transportation and public safety agencies; and support future interfaces with other department systems.
