DigitalNet nabs FBI IT support services deal

DigitalNet Government Solutions Inc. won a three-year, $22 million contract from the FBI to provide information technology support services, the company announced today. The task order contract is for the rest of fiscal 2003 with two, one-year options and one, 10-month option.

Under the contract, DigitalNet of Herndon, Va., will provide day-to-day, on-site support to 44 FBI locations throughout the country. Because of DigitalNet's experience on the FBI's Trilogy Project to upgrade the FBI's IT infrastructure, the company has an extensive understanding of the bureau's IT environment, said Gina Abate, DigitalNet's vice president.

"We are able to supply the services, solutions and security necessary to help the FBI achieve its primary mission of protecting the United States, as well as, supporting its efforts in law enforcement and assistance to partners nationwide and around the globe," she said.

DigitalNet Government Solutions has about 1,700 employees and annual sales of $367.8 million. The company was ranked No. 35 on the Washington Technology Top 100.
