Australia re-ups Maximus for employment services
Maximus Inc. won a three-year, $31.5 million contract extension from Australia's Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
Maximus Inc. won a three-year, $31.5 million contract extension from Australia's Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, the company announced today.
Under the contract, Maximus of Reston, Va., will provide employment services such as job placement, job search support and customized assistance.
The company will provide intense assistance and case services for disadvantaged job seekers and those having difficulty finding employment over a period of time.
The contract covers 38 sites throughout Queensland, New South Wales, and the Northern Territory. The services will be administered by MaxNetwork, the company's Australian subsidiary.
Most of the services will be provided from existing MaxNetwork offices. While the company has opened four new offices in the Western Downs and Northern Beaches to support this contract, other offices previously operated by MaxNetwork were not included in this award.
During the nine years that MaxNetwork has provided employment services in Australia, more than 25,000 people have been placed in sustainable employment. In the United States, Maximus has helped more than 200,000 people find gainful employment.
Maximus, a provider of program management, consulting and information technology services for state and local government, has more than 5,500 employees and annual sales of $518.7 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
