Raytheon taps Telelogic for DD(X) requirements software

Telelogic Inc. has been selected by Raytheon Co. to provide requirements management software for the Navy's next-generation surface warships, the company announced this week. The contract value was not disclosed.

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems Inc., a unit of Raytheon Co. of Lexington, Mass., will implement the use the system Telelogic's DOORS requirements management software to provide requirements management support for the next generation of naval surface combat ships prototype project, known as DD(X).

Telelogic's DOORS is a multiplatform, enterprisewide system designed to capture, link, trace, analyze and manage changes to information that will be used to ensure the DD(X) project's compliance to specified requirements and standards. The software systems also will help Raytheon and other industry partners ensure that applications are completed on time, within budget and with all features originally specified.

The transaction builds on a three-year, global master agreement that Telelogic has with Raytheon that covers more than 2,000 licenses for Telelogic change and configuration management, requirements management, and software analysis and modeling software.

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems is the electronic systems integrator for the DD(X) project. Under its three-year, $1.36 billion DD(X) contract, Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems will design, develop, build and conduct sea tests of engineering development models that will be applied to the next generation comprehensive DD(X) ship design.

Telelogic, a provider of solutions for advanced systems and software development, has 800 employees worldwide. The Swedish-based company has its U.S. headquarters in Irvine, Calif.
