Keane Inc. has won a three-year, $10 million contract from the New York Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance to provide technology programming services, the company announced June 30.
If options for an additional two years of service are exercised, the contract will be worth about $17 million, the company said.
Under the contract, Keane of Boston will provide applications maintenance, support and enhancement services for several of the agency's mission critical applications, including its systems for welfare management and child support.
The contract will enable the agency to streamline its management processes by reducing its piecemeal use of multiple Common Business Oriented Language programming contractors. It is expected to save the state as much as $5 million over the next five years, the company said.
Keane's approach is built on the company's proprietary application management methodology, a cornerstone of its application development and management outsourcing solution.
The methodology incorporates performance metrics, project management disciplines, continuous improvement activities and tight management controls, including quality reviews, project planning and monitoring.
The New York Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance's mission is to promote greater self-sufficiency of the state's residents through temporary and transitional aid, disability assistance and child support collection.
Keane performs business consulting, application development and integration and management outsourcing. The company has more than 7,700 employees and annual revenue of $873.2 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
