Innovative Technology Application acquires IT Specialists

Innovative Technology Application Inc. has acquired IT Specialists Inc., a provider of information technology consulting services, the company announced today.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Through the acquisition, ITA of Springfield, Va., will enhance the skills and capabilities of its IT division, company officials said. This is the second acquisition of an IT services provider by ITA this year. The company acquired DKCS Inc. of Fairfax, Va., in May.

IT Specialists of Springfield, Va., provides a variety of IT consulting services, including technical staffing, wide area networks, router installation and configuration, Microsoft and Novell systems support, Internet and e-mail services, and Web design and development.

IT Specialist's professional staff have relocated to ITA and now report to Donald Cook, head of ITA's IT division.

"Our customers look to us for programming, networking and cybersecurity assistance, so adding the professional staff of IT Specialists to our IT division means we're better positioned to help them than ever before. We now have an IT division that can compete with anybody in the federal IT marketplace," said Donald Brewster, ITA's chairman and chief operating officer.

ITA Inc. is a provider of knowledge management and counter terrorism products and consulting services. The company has provided services to more than a dozen federal commercial and military customers.
