ZyLAB, a developer of document imaging and full-text retrieval software, has formed a dedicated public-sector business unit, company officials said today.
Officials said the unit is a response to increasing demand from federal, state and local government customers for the company's records management and archival solution, ZyIMAGE.
The public-sector unit will be based in McLean, Va., which is also headquarters of ZyLAB North America LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Amsterdam-based ZyLAB.
ZyLAB's clients include more than 100 North American government organizations, such as the departments of Commerce and Justice, Montgomery County, Md., and the Air Force, Army and Navy.
"ZyIMAGE allows us to digitally archive our paper and electronic documents, making them readily accessible throughout our organization using a Web browser interface," said Dieter Klinger, chief of Enterprise Services in the Department of Technology Services, Montgomery County, Md.
ZyLAB officials also announced the availability of ZyIMAGE 5.0, which will help companies and governments digitally file and manage millions of pages of paper, e-mail and electronic documents. This solution offers new capabilities to support the requirements of security, intelligence, law enforcement and legal users, according to the company.
