Navy taps Intergraph for hardware, surveillance system

Intergraph Solutions Group Inc. has won orders totaling $7.7 million from the Navy to provide hardware, software and services to support the Naval Sea Systems Command CAD-2 contract, the company announced today.

Under the contract, Intergraph of Huntsville, Ala., will provide rugged hardware and integration services for the Naval Ship Systems Engineering Station. The services involve integrating digital video surveillance into the Navy's condition assessment and damage control systems, the company said.

Intergraph continues to support the Naval Ship Systems Engineering Station with its Smart Ship program by designing, manufacturing and integrating rugged, Intel-based workstations that operate in difficult conditions or meet military and national electronics standards.

The company also integrates and delivers specializes software and hardware systems for damage assessment, systems control, video surveillance and bridge consoles. A major effort includes integration of real-time, object-based video surveillance into damage control systems to automate tasks such as determining the contents of a space or the type and extent of damage.

Intergraph Solutions is a division of Intergraph Corp. The company has about 3,800 employees and had annual sales of $501.2 million in fiscal 2002, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
