LA County Sheriff re-ups ACS for ticket processing

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. won a six-year contract from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to provide parking citation processing and collection services, the company announced today. The contract value was not disclosed.

Under the contract, ACS of Dallas will provide several enhancements to an existing contract with the department for parking citation processing and collection service.

Among the enhancements are handheld citation writing equipment and customer service innovations, including online ticket payment, an automated voice response system and enhanced parking fine collection activities.

ACS, which has worked with the county since 1983, collects about $6.6 million in annual revenue for the sheriff's department. The company provides violations processing for 20 municipalities throughout the United States. In addition to parking citation processing, ACS also provides red-light photo traffic enforcement and child support payment activities to Los Angeles County.

ACS, a provider of business process and information technology outsourcing to commercial and government clients, has more than 40,000 employees and had annual sales of $3.2 billion in fiscal 2002.
