GTSI gets state and local IT sales contract
GTSI Corp. won a three-year, $300 million contract from U.S. Communities Purchasing and Finance Agency for IT products, solutions and services for state and local governments.
GTSI Corp. won a three-year, $300 million contract from U.S. Communities Purchasing and Finance Agency to provide information technology products, solutions and services to state and local governments, the company announced April 1.
The sole-source contract was signed with Fairfax County, Va., which is the lead procurement agency for U.S. Communities, the company said.
Under the contract, GTSI of Chantilly, Va., will offer schools, state and local governments and nonprofit organizations affiliated with government agencies a broad range of computers, software, peripheral accessories and related services.
Agencies will be able to choose from more than 175,000 IT products and services from more than 300 vendors, said Dendy Young, GTSI's chairman and chief executive officer.
The new contract replaces a three year-old, multiple vendor IT contract, said Steve Hamill, general manager of U.S. Communities.
U.S. Communities is a nonprofit, public benefit corporation established to assist public agencies nationwide reduce the cost of purchasing goods and to improve the purchasing process for vendors and public agencies alike.
GTSI has more than 600 employees and annual sales of $934.7 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
