CSC joint venture nets $948 million UK contract

Computer Sciences Corp.'s DynCorp International, in a joint venture with Interservefm Ltd., has won a 10-year, $948 million contract to provide facilities management and range operations to the British Ministry of Defence, the company announced today.

The joint venture, known as Landmarc Support Services Inc., includes an optional five-year extension, the company said.

Under the award, the companies will manage all of the non-military support for Britain's Army Training Estate and Defence Estates at 130 locations throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

CSC of El Segundo, Calif., brings to the joint venture its expertise in range operations and associated technology, while Interservefm of Reading, United Kingdom, brings expertise managing, maintaining and developing the estates. Each company owns half of the joint venture.

Landmarc is one of the largest support services contract the British Ministry of Defence has awarded, said Stephen Cannon, president of CSC's DynCorp International.

The Army Training Estate and Defence Estates jointly provide the land and facilities required for the country's armed forces training. About 2,000 employees will be assigned to the contract.
