Find opportunities — and win them.

Reliable Integration Services Inc. has been picked as a subcontractor to provide information technology support for networking more than 400 commercial airports for the Transportation Security Administration.

Unisys Corp. has chosen Reliable Integration Services Inc. to provide information technology support for networking more than 400 commercial airports under the jurisdiction of the Transportation Security Administration, Reliable officials announced March 10.

Unisys, of Blue Bell, Pa., in August 2002 was awarded a multi-year task order estimated to be worth $1 billion or more to build an infrastructure for the new agency, which has responsibility for the security of all modes of transportation. The agency's first emphasis is on air travel, said Tom Conaway, managing principal, defense, Unisys Global Public Sector.

Under the terms of the performance-based task order, Unisys is networking all of the airports. The next step will be to standardize each of the sites on a common network configuration.

Reliable, Dunn Loring, Va., was tapped by Unisys to provide Novell network planning and other IT support, including hardware and software services, help desk, network and security operations, business process re-engineering and remote management.

Conaway said the company was not able to release information regarding the estimated worth of the subcontract. Reliable is a privately-held company of 50 employees and a network of 300 consultants that has been providing IT services to commercial and government organizations since 1988.
