SI International lands space command work

SI International Inc. won a contract to provide space sensors engineering and technical services support to the Air Force Space Command, officials of the Reston, Va., company announced March 24.

The task order contract is for one year with eight one-year options. The contract's potential value is $43.5 million over nine years.

With space systems modernization as a key focus area, SI International has been supporting the North American Aerospace Defense Command, U.S. Space Command (now U.S. Strategic Command) and Air Force Space Command for more than eight years.

In addition, SI has supported the Spacelift Range Systems, Range Standardization and Automation, military satellite communication systems, the Air Force Satellite Control Network and other Air Force Space Command programs since 1996.

SI International provides information technology and network solutions primarily to the federal government. For fiscal 2002, the company had revenue of $149.4 million, up 1.9 percent from the previous year's $146.6 million. In fiscal 2002, SI International's core federal government contract revenue grew by 13.9 percent to $137.6 million, from $120.8 million in 2001.
