International Trade Commission taps PEC for infrastructure upgrade

PEC Solutions Inc. has won a five-year, $5 million task order contract from the U.S. International Trade Commission to upgrade the agency's information technology infrastructure, the company announced March 10.

Under the contract, PEC of Fairfax, Va., will build and configure new services to improve the agency's communications infrastructure. Once the upgrade is complete, PEC also will provide sustaining engineering and ongoing support services for the agency.

The International Trade Commission is an independent, quasi-judicial federal agency that provides trade expertise to both the legislative and executive branches of government. The agency also determines the impact of imports on U.S. industries and directs actions against unfair trade practices, such as patent, trademark and copyright infringement.

PEC Solutions, which was ranked 73 on Washington Technology's 2002 list of Top 100 federal prime contractors for IT services, is a professional services firm specializing in e-government solutions.

The company has about 1,250 employees and had annual sales of about $182.2 million in fiscal 2002, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
