General Dynamics wins $20 million Army upgrade contract

General Dynamics Corp., Falls Church, Va., won a $19.9 million contract to upgrade a signals intelligence system, the company announced March 13.

Under the contract, the company's decisions systems unit will upgrade the Army's Prophet, a tactical signals intelligence system that offers electronic surveillance and attack capabilities. This upgrade will enable commanders to detect and deter enemy signals by networking a number of vehicles in a battlefield.

General Dynamics' team includes Antin Engineering, Inc., Austin Info Systems Inc., QinetiQ Ltd., Raytheon Co., Rockwell Collins Inc., Spectrum Certification Solutions Inc. and the Tobyhanna Army Depot.

General Dynamics' Land Systems unit also recently won a $184 million contract, of which $39 million has been allocated, to provide 115 M1A1 battle tank vehicle material sets.
