GTSI launches integrator team

Find opportunities — and win them.

GTSI has launched an integrator solutions group, its first formal working group dedicated to integrator relations.

GTSI has launched an integrator solutions group, the company announced this week.

Although the company already supports integrators with large contracts?such as DynCorp on its FBI Trilogy contract?this team is GTSI's first formal working group dedicated to integrator relations, said John Spotila, GTSI president and chief operating officer.

"We see this as potentially a large area for us," Spotila said. Hardware procurement is an area that integrators "have to deal with, and they struggle at it. It is hard and it is not what they do. We're offering the ability to take this necessary component and do it for them very, very well. It's fundamentally what we do."

In fiscal 2002, the company did about $200 million of its sales through integrators, Spotila said. GTSI focuses solely on government sales, which include federal, state and local agencies.

The team will focus on looking at large, performance-based government contracts and determine how GTSI can help a potential bidder. According to Spotila, the company can be a single point of contact for hardware procurement for a prime integrator, as well as offer acquisition and planning management, leasing services and IT life cycle management, integration and customization, deployment, and material management.

Although Spotila would not reveal how many people are dedicated to this team ? only saying "a handful" are in the team currently ? he did say that the it would grow as opportunities arise. The team would also work with other GTSI teams dedicated to serving particular agencies.

Todd Leto will serve as senior director for the integrator solutions group.
