RS Info Systems nets HUD software work

RS Information Systems Inc. has won a $10 million contract to provide software development and systems maintenance support for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, company officials announced Jan. 3.

Under the contract, the company will support systems operated by the Real Estate Assessment Center in HUD's Office of Public and Indian Housing. REAC monitors and assesses the condition of properties in which HUD has an interest as well as the performance of people who manage or own HUD properties.

The software development by RSIS and its partners will support the physical assessment subsystem that tracks the condition of public housing and multifamily housing properties, said Rodney Hunt, president and chief executive officer of McLean, Va.-based RSIS.

The three-year contract was awarded competitively through STATUS, a Department of Transportation contract vehicle. RSIS' partners are BearingPoint Inc. of McLean, Va., and Quality Software Services Inc. of Rockville, Md.

RSIS provides information technology, systems engineering and technical assistance, telecommunications services, scientific support services, and management consulting to government agencies and commercial clients. The minority-owned firm employs 1,400 and logged more than $185 million in revenue in 2002. RSIS ranked 50th on the 2002 Washington Technology Top 100 list of federal IT contractors.
