SAIC lands $24.5 million Navy technical support contract

Science Applications International Corp. has won a three-year, $24.5 million contract to provide engineering and technical services support to the U.S. Navy, the company announced Dec. 19.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract was awarded by the U.S. Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center headquartered in San Diego.

Under the contract, SAIC of San Diego will provide engineering, integration and test services for the development of emerging navigation sensors and systems.

The company also will provide air and shipboard command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance system technologies.

The contract includes requirements identification, program planning and execution necessary to evaluate and successfully implement these emerging technologies.

The SAIC-led team includes 10 small and large businesses: ACS Defense, Inc., San Diego; ARINC, Inc., San Diego; DCS Corp., Alexandria, Va.; Dragon Research and Engineering, Inc., San Diego; Gnostech Inc., Warminster, Pa.; Haggerty Communications Group, La Mesa, Calif.; iBASEt, San Diego; Indus Technologies, Inc., San Diego, Calif.; Integrated Consultants, Coronado, Calif.; and NAVSYS Corp., Colorado Springs, Colo.

SAIC has more than 40,000 employees and annual revenue of $6.1 billion.
