PlanetGov, HP win $100 million IRS order

PlanetGov Inc., Chantilly, Va., won a three year agreement with the Internal Revenue Service to provide up to $100 million worth of computers from Hewlett-Packard Co., Palo Alto, Calif., the companies announced Dec. 3. Under the terms of the agreement, HP will supply the IRS with its Compaq Evo desktop and notebook computers. This order follows a $35 million contract the team won from IRS in August to provide 12,000 desktop and notebook computers."HP assisted us in meeting the requirements of the IRS under that initial order, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with HP under this new agreement," said Steve Baldwin, chief executive officer of PlanetGov.Jim Milton, senior vice president of HP Enterprise Systems Group, said in the announcement that as a result of such sales, the public sector has become HP's largest single vertical industry.
