GTSI wins State Department BPA worth up to $100M

GTSI Corp. won a five-year blanket purchase agreement to provide the State Department with hardware, software and support for its domestic and worldwide operations. The new BPA could generate annual revenue of $20 million, for a total of $100 million, according to the company. GTSI is the sole awardee.

GTSI is a Chantilly, Va., reseller of information technology products to the federal, state and local governments.

The purchase agreement, announced Dec. 16, was awarded under the General Services Administration schedule. Under the State Information Infrastructure PC/LAN/WAN/WEB BPA, GTSI will furnish workstations, servers, local and wide area network equipment, and other hardware, software and technical support services to domestic State Department bureaus and missions abroad.

GTSI's State Department team, with the company's technology partners, will provide IT solutions specifically designed to help the State Department fulfill its mission and support its IT Strategic Plan, said Dendy Young, GTSI chairman and chief executive officer.

The State Department's IT Strategic plan includes provision of workstations, interconnection of the department's offices worldwide with classified and unclassified e-mail capability, strengthened remote diagnostics and continued implementation of critical infrastructure security measures.

The BPA also is open to 18 other foreign affairs agencies supporting State Department missions worldwide.
