DigitalNet Inc. completed its $223 million purchase of Getronics Government Solutions, the company announced.

DigitalNet of Bethesda, Md., was a startup with just four employees before the purchase of Getronics. The company is being backed with $100 million in financing from GTCR Golder Rauner, a Chicago-based private venture capital firm.

Getronics Government Solutions, based in Herndon, Va., provides managed infrastructure services, information assurance, application development and integration to civilian agencies, the intelligence community and the Defense Department. The group will be known as DigitalNet Government Solutions and employ 1,700 people.
