SRA International Inc., a Fairfax, Va., provider of information technology services and solutions to U.S. federal government organizations, named Michael Jacobs as senior adviser for cyber and national security. He will play a key role in the company's work in national security programs, including homeland security, information assurance, counter-terrorism, and critical infrastructure protection. Jacobs joins SRA upon retirement from a 38-year career with the National Security Agency.

Unanet Technologies, a professional services automation software company based in Fairfax, Va., hired John Forrester as assistant vice president of business development. He will be responsible for government defense, commercial health and biotech markets. Most recently, Forrester served at World Medical Leaders and Impact Innovation.

Larry Garner, who previously ran the U.S. Air Force's PACAF security organization and retired from the Air Force after 26 years of service, has been named vice president and director of East Coast Operations by SEIDCON Inc., a provider of security engineering and other IT services to the federal government. He will be responsible for the strategic growth and management of the company's greater D.C. and other East Coast locations.

RGII Technologies Inc., an Annapolis, Md., technology company, hired Matthew Murray as vice president, Enterprise Systems Solutions division. He was previously with Computer Sciences Corp. The company also hired Tom Eakin as director for Information Assurance and IT Services, Information Management Services Division. He was previously with Booz Allen Hamilton.

Scientific & Engineering Solutions, Annapolis Junction, Md., hired William "Bill" Korink, former director of Compaq's intelligence business and veteran National Security Agency executive, as senior vice president of the company's government intelligence business sector.

Michael McCarthy, former senior executive vice president of Belo Corp., joined Wiley Rein & Fielding LLP's communications practice as a partner in their Washington office. He will advise clients on matters involving telecommunications policy, regulation and legislation.

SystemLink Enterprise Solutions Inc., a Toronto firm specializing in the areas of knowledge, learner and training

management, hired Jason Stutt as director of Learner Management Solutions.

Sourcefire Inc., a Columbia, Md., network security firm, named Thomas McDonough as president and chief operating officer. He will be responsible for day-to-day operations and implementing the company's business plan, which includes aggressive sales and marketing initiatives. Previously, McDonough was with Mountain Wave Inc., which was acquired by Symantec Corp. in July.

NetIQ Corp., a San Jose, Calif., provider of systems management, security management and Web analytics solutions, appointed David Barram to its board of directors. Barram recently completed eight years of service with the federal government in Washington, having been appointed deputy secretary and COO of the Department of Commerce by then-president Bill Clinton in July 1993. In March 1996, Clinton appointed him administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration.

NCI Information Systems Inc., a McLean, Va., information technology firm, hired Karen Walton as senior vice president of business development for the federal civilian agencies. She will be responsible for leading

marketing and business development efforts for all of the federal civilian agencies and establishing and maintaining key strategic partnerships. Prior to joining NCI, Walton spent seven years at Oracle.

Navigation Technologies, a Chicago provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation, Internet/wireless applications and

business solutions, hired Robert Denaro as vice president and general manager of its North American Business Solutions Unit. Denaro will leverage his extensive background in the positioning, location and mapping industry to expand Navigation Technologies' business in the GIS, fleet and enterprise markets. Denaro joins Navigation Technologies from Rand McNally & Co.

H&K Strategic Business Solutions, a McLean, Va., corporate strategic,

management and financial solutions provider, named Robert Sturm to lead the Government Contracting Services division. As executive consultant, Sturm will advise companies on breaking the barriers to entry and increased prominence in the government marketplace. Sturm was previously president and CEO of a consulting firm he founded, Paradigm Consulting LLC.

Veridian Corp., Arlington, Va., named Charles Simons as vice chairman of Veridian. He will preside at the executive sessions of its board of directors. Simons has served as a director of Veridian since 1997,

and previously served as a director on the boards of its predecessor companies dating back to 1983.
