SAIC wins $38 million Army task order

A team led by Science Applications International Corp., San Diego, won a task order worth up to $38 million to consolidate Army European IT services, the company announced Nov. 11.

The task order was awarded by the General Services Administration's Millennia contract, a $25 billion multiple-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract issued in January 1999.

Members of SAIC's team include Hewlett-Packard Co., Palo Alto, Calif., and Seidcon Inc., Oceanview, Calif.

Under the task order, the team will manage servers, desktop computers, help desks and local and wide area networks for Army outposts in Europe.

"The goal of this task order is to bring the best industry practices to the Army as it continues its efforts to transform its information infrastructure," said Peter Dube, senior vice president and manager of SAIC's integrated network engineering and operations group.
