PureEdge to provide Air Force with e-forms

PureEdge Solutions Inc. has been awarded a contract worth about $6.7 million to develop electronic forms for the Air Force, the company announced Nov. 18.

Under the terms of the deal, PureEdge of Victoria, British Columbia, will convert approximately 15,000 Air Force forms into an extensible markup language-based format, using its Internet Commerce System software. The company expects the forms to be used by more than 700,000 personnel.

Enterprise Information Management Inc., Arlington, Va., is the program manager for the project. The contract was awarded through the General Services Administration's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center.

"This advancement in technology presents the Air Force with the opportunity to redefine our business processes, while enabling existing Air Force infrastructures to tap into its information management capabilities," said Carolyn Watkins-Taylor, director of the Air Force's departmental publishing office.

Formed in 1993, PureEdge provides XML e-form products and services, and employs about 50 people. Government clients include the Securities and Exchanges Commission and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
